Since 1991, we’ve been delivering top-quality service to the local community, and we’re proud to carry on the legacy of Ian Lancaster, who founded Stoke Motors. Now led by his son, Dean Lancaster, the business has grown and relocated to a larger, more modern space at 45 Packham Crescent.
Our History
Dean brings years of experience in the automotive industry. He started his apprenticeship at his father’s garage, worked with several local workshops, and returned to take over the family business. Under his leadership, Stoke Motors has continued to thrive, modernising while staying true to the values of honesty and quality that Ian instilled.

Meet the Team at Stoke Motors
Thomas
If you've popped into Stoke Motors in the last three years, chances are you've seen Thomas getting his hands dirty under the bonnet or performing WOF checks in the workshop. Thomas has been with us for three years, joining after six years at a local workshop. He earned his WOF ticket last year, helping us meet the growing demand.
A massive Toyota fan (especially Altezzas – just ask his wife, Casey!), Thomas enjoys the quiet life out in the Moutere with his two kids.
Dean
If you've been in the workshop lately, you've probably heard Dean talking about his favourite topics – his tractor, his boat, or the fish he didn’t catch on his last fishing trip. (Although he may tell you otherwise!)
Despite looking like he’s still in his twenties, Dean’s got over 20 years of experience in the industry. He started at Stoke Motors (back when it was in the old building), then worked at a few other local garages to expand his skills. He earned his WOF ticket in 2010 and took over the family business in 2015.
Tony
Tony might be the newest face at Stoke Motors, but he’s no rookie in the garage! With 9 years of experience under his belt, he’s spent 3 years doing specialist training on Holdens and earned the highest level Gold certificate from Holden Tech Training (General Motors).
Tony’s the go-to guy for all things Holden. From diagnosing tricky mechanical issues to getting those cars back on the road, he’s your man. Before joining us, Tony also worked on a variety of other brands, including Nissan, Subaru, Suzuki, and MG.
